Events | 18 May 10am – 5pm Loddon Lily Sunday

18th May 2025

Celebrate the return of spring with the last of our Loddon lily open days for the 2025 season. Our signature flower is coming to the end of its blooming and they are now turning their energy into creating their seedheads. The reserve looks as glorious as ever. Come and have a stroll!

Make the most of your visit by bringing a picnic and refreshments. We have wonderful places to sit, as well as our waterfront deck, tree log seating, and hides for quiet watching and waiting for wildlife to appear.

Entry to the reserve is free – but donations are welcome.

We love dogs, however to protect wildlife and habitats, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on the reserve. They are welcome at the study centre side if kept under control and on a lead.

A soft underfoot path with trees just coming into leaf, leads into the main reserve. All is calm on a spring day, with the joy of walking through the reserve ahead.
A close up of the nodding Loddon lily flower, its petals pointing down like a ballerina's skirt.
The branches of a willow tree are just coming into leaf, with the branch tips grazing the water of the river Thames. There is a slight ripple in the water, from passing boats. A languid, spring day.
