Join us for cream teas, cakes and refreshments, served between 2pm and 5pm.

Why not join us for our last Cream Tea Sunday of 2026, and enjoy an afternoon at our beautiful reserve? Spot bees, butterflies, birds and beetles, and see how many species of woodland and wetland flora you can count as you wander alongside the beautiful river Thames and through the vestiges of Samuel Saunders’ boatyard.

Teas are served from the Study Centre with seating in the Oak Grove. Remember to stop by the welcome shelter where you’ll find our Wardens, more information about the reserve and things to buy.

Entry to the reserve is free, although donations are welcome.

P.S. To protect wildlife and habitats, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on the reserve. They are welcome at the study centre side if kept under control and on a lead.

A little bird told us it’s time for some Citizen Science this Sunday!

Join our Warden at 10.30am to take the Merlin app for a walkabout and learn how to get the most out of it, from identifying birds to submitting data to monitor bird species populations.

The reserve is open 10am – 5pm, and we recommend downloading the Merlin app on your smartphone before arriving.

Make the most of your visit by bringing a picnic and refreshments. We have wonderful places to sit, as well as our waterfront deck, tree log seating, and hides for quiet watching and waiting for birdlife to appear.
