Events | 6 April 10am – 5pm Loddon Lily Sunday

06th April 2025

Celebrate the return of spring with our Loddon lily open days. Our signature flower is blooming and this Goring Gap spectacle is not to be missed. The forecast is sunny and just right for a stroll. PLUS it’s our first Citizen Science Sunday too! With us on-hand to help between 10am-12noon, learn how to make positive identifications, what Apps to use, and how to record and submit your sightings.

Make the most of your visit by bringing a picnic and refreshments. We have wonderful places to sit, as well as our waterfront deck, tree log seating, and hides for quiet watching and waiting for wildlife to appear.

Entry to the reserve is free – but donations are welcome.

We love dogs, however to protect wildlife and habitats, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on the reserve. They are welcome at the study centre side if kept under control and on a lead. Oh, and remember too that if coming from further afield Streatley Hill/B4009 is closed this weekend.

A ground level close up of the Loddon lily, Withymead's signature flower. The bare branched trees line the background in the distance, set against a spring blue sky.
A wooden bench overlooks a still, calm, small area of water on the reserve. The trees around the water are just coming into bud. It is an early spring day. Lovely!
