Want to learn more about nature in your local area? Interested in using your observations to contribute to science? Then join us for our last Citizen Science Sunday of 2026!
Citizen Science Sundays normally focus on a particular topic, which we will announce closer to the time. Please check back for details.
There will be no charge for this event, although donations are greatly appreciated.
PS. We love dogs, however to protect wildlife and habitats, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on the reserve. They are welcome at the study centre side if kept under control and on a lead.

It’s our last Cream Tea Sunday of the year! Make the most of the bank holiday weekend and treat yourself to a cake or cream tea, and a stroll around our beautiful reserve. Teas served from the Study Centre 2pm – 5pm, reserve open 10am – 5pm.

Events | 5 July 10am – 1pm Citizen Science Sunday
A little bird told us it’s time for some Citizen Science this Sunday!
Join our Warden at 10.30am to take the Merlin app for a walkabout and learn how to get the most out of it, from identifying birds to submitting data to monitor bird species populations.
The reserve is open 10am – 5pm, and we recommend downloading the Merlin app on your smartphone before arriving.
Make the most of your visit by bringing a picnic and refreshments. We have wonderful places to sit, as well as our waterfront deck, tree log seating, and hides for quiet watching and waiting for birdlife to appear.
