Events | 30 August 2pm – 5pm Cream Tea Sunday

30th August 2026

Join us for cream teas, cakes and refreshments, served between 2pm and 5pm.

Why not join us for our last Cream Tea Sunday of 2026, and enjoy an afternoon at our beautiful reserve? Spot bees, butterflies, birds and beetles, and see how many species of woodland and wetland flora you can count as you wander alongside the beautiful river Thames and through the vestiges of Samuel Saunders’ boatyard.

Teas are served from the Study Centre with seating in the Oak Grove. Remember to stop by the welcome shelter where you’ll find our Wardens, more information about the reserve and things to buy.

Entry to the reserve is free, although donations are welcome.

P.S. To protect wildlife and habitats, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on the reserve. They are welcome at the study centre side if kept under control and on a lead.

A delicious looking chocolate orange bundt cake sits on a glass cake stand, with a gold cake slice at the ready. The cake is covered with chocolate ganache icing, and white, dark and milk chocolate stars adorn the top.
The branches of a willow tree are just coming into leaf, with the branch tips grazing the water of the river Thames. There is a slight ripple in the water, from passing boats. A languid, spring day.
